Joseph G.A. Cole, one of Sierra Leone’s leading musicians who shot to fame singing songs against Government Corruption has yesterday at a jam packed rally in the East of Freetown publicly endorsed the candidature of Sierra Leone’s youngest parliamentary aspirant at the upcoming August 11th polls, Anthony Navo Junior (aka Junior Navo).

Navo is running for Constituency 104 under the ticket of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). Joseph Cole (also known as Daddy SAJ) has won many local and international accolades and enjoys a huge fan base in Sierra Leone. In the presence of the Honourable Vioce President, Solomon Ekuma Berewa who is also running for the Presidency, Cole called upon all his supporters in the east of Freetown to cast their ballot for Anthony Navo.

Cole elaborated upon why he was endorsing Navo, who is a successful young international business man.

"Because of the job Navo has been doing in the musical industry, in the area of football development and his creation of jobs and opportunities for many Sierra Leonean youths; because of his work in making peace amongst warring factions up at the University; because of his love for the people of this land, I am today calling on all Sierra Leoneans in Constituency 104 to cast their vote for Anthony Navo Junior." Daddy SAJ boomed over the microphone.

Daddy SAJ is now the seventh famous Sierra Leonean musician to declare their support for the candidacy of Junior Navo. Others include popular love crooner K-Man and the President himself of the All Stars Association of Sierra Leonean artists, Base Aphonix.

It is no wonder at the support Navo has been getting and he looks all set to sweep the votes in his constituency where he faces four other challengers including one who flew in from the United States reportedly loaded with dollars.

Navo is one of the most prominent young men in the Sierra Leone society. He operates an international foreign exchange bureau, an electronics store and various other business interests. He established the Navos Records in 2004 which he used to take local musicians all over the world. In football, he is the Chief Executive of a leading football tam known as the Eastern Rangers. He is also a father, husband, brother and a friend to many.

"Navo has been a friend to me for over four years now. He has never done anything to let me down. In that regards, I will do everything in my power to make sure he storm into parliament so that much more will be done for the youth of this country. I’m calling on all musicians, soccer players, karatekers, men and women to come out in their Chinese numbers to campaign for Junior Navo in the 2007 Parliamentary election." Daddy Saj also stated.

After making his speech, Daddy SAJ received a warm bear’s hug from VP Berewa who informed the crowd, that one of his target if elected was to empower the youths of Sierra Leone such as Anthony Navo whom he described as a "real asset" to the SLPP.

The occasion was climaxed by a massive rally which was held under the rains with several local musicians walking the streets of Constitutuency 104 singing songs of support for Junior Navo the now popularly termed, "Junior Bomba".
